A recent inquiry came in on ideas on diaper cakes that might be available for a mother expecting twins. A diaper cake can easily be created having two babies in mind. Most of the diaper arrangements you see on this blog can be created for two babies. Most of the diaper cakes come with 1 item of each baby item that is used to create the diaper cake. When I get orders of twins the cakes are created with two of each.

Below is a Winnie the Pooh and Tigger favorite that was created for a mother that was having twins. The diaper cake was fully loaded with a bunch of infant and baby goodies perfect for baby and mother.

The blessing of becoming pregnant and being a mommy is one of a woman's most memorial moments in life. 9 months of preparations and dreams of what it will be like when the baby is born. Often you never hear on how fast your body image takes a surprising hit when you look in the mirror after you have giving birth to your precious little one and you realize your body has completely changed. Women become determine to do what ever it takes to get the body they loved to see when they faced the mirror.

Alot of the time we forget that it took our bodies 9 months to get to where it did to deliver that baby. Should it not be fair to say your body would need about the same time to get back to being itself.

The 5 rules to follow when you are in the first year after having your baby are:

Be patient and kind to yourself. Remember the miracle you accomplished.

Eat a healthy diet. You body needs nutrients to replenish itself of the hard work.

Exercise routinely. Make is not just a chore but a healthy habit

Be positive and remember you have a whole year to cut your body some slack.

Treat yourself to things that make you feel beautiful. Facials, pedicures, massages overall help you love your body and want to continue the journey to bring it to what it once was.

Another idea moms might want to try is to continue the routine of lotioning the tummy and thigh areas as done while pregnant. A good toning and firming lotion will help your skin regain the collagen and elasticity it needs to regain its firmness.

A few years ago I had a few order of these favors. I realized the market seemed small but only because not many people really know about them. On Facebook, I stumbled across a post that I felt was just a beautiful message I should share.

My personal opinion on abortion has always been, there is not a fraction of chance for that to be an option for me personally. But I have never stood oppose to another women having the right to make her decision. Whom am I to judge your reasons.

But deep down inside I would love for abortion to not exist. I would love for people to be more responsible in making the right choices before conception. I would love for options to be considered before a person decides to end an innocent life. In a perfect world this would be one of the first things to not exist.

I only beg of every women who finds her self lost, scared, pregnant and in a situation where that is consider the only option, to PLEASE, PLEASE,PLEASE seek good guidance first and then research what abortion really is and looks like. Many of us would have a second thought once you saw what abortion looks like up close an personal.

My blog is completely about life and happiness. I try never to bring it down with sad post because a baby's arrival is a miracle all in itself. But seeing the post on FaceBook made me consider posting it for my readers to remind us how important it is to respect life even at its most purest form. Hey maybe there is a mother seeking a sign from above on what to do. I would love for her to stumble across my blog and have it be only but a small direction that points her to keeping that baby.

'Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even 1 year old and I'm pregnant again. I don't want kids so close together.

So the doctor said: 'Ok and what do you want me to do?'

She said: 'I want you to end my pregnancy, and I'm counting on your help with this.'

The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady: 'I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less dangerous for you too.'

She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request.

Then he continued: 'You see, in order for you not to have to take care 2 babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we're going to kill one of them, it doesn't matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms.

The lady was horrified and said: 'No doctor! How terrible! It's a crime to kill a child!

'I agree', the doctor replied. 'But you seemed to be OK with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution.'

The doctor smiled, realizing that he had made his point.

He convinced the mom that there is no difference in killing a child that's already been born and one that's still in the womb.

The crime is the same!

"Love says I sacrifice myself for the good of the other person. Abortion says I sacrifice the other person for the good of myself..."

So every so often I fill in my blog with commercials that crack a smile on my face. So I can't help but to pause my diaper cake posting for those baby commercials here and there. This next commercials was running a few months ago and it was to cute to pass up.

The commercial was run by HP and its a little baby traveling through a long journey to get to his destination which in this case was the printer. The message is HP gives you the option to take the picture and instantly send to your printer from any mobile device. I have to love the great marketing ideas some companies come up with. The adorable baby made it worth just stopping your chores running to the television and getting a glimpse of his cute chubby face as he races on by.

Baby Shower Centerpieces

A blogger friend emailed me telling me that my little chairs idea was so cute. I wanted to write back and thank everyone who gives me feed back on how much they like my arrangements.

The diaper cake chairs centerpieces came from a memory I have of when I was a young child in the 70s. I don't know if anyone else can relate with me on this but there was a craze that happened around that time where parents could take their kid's first baby shoes and bronze them. Make cute display pieces for a decoration piece. My mom had made one of my first baby shoes and had it as a living room decoration for all of my early childhood years.

From that I thought why not use baby shoes as a display since they are so so adorable. So then I came up with the diaper cake that would be more of a decoration display piece then just a diaper cake.

Here is one of the ones I have available right now. Its perfect for a baby boy arrival. This centerpiece diaper cake chair has an adorable monkey plush displaying cute little baby sneakers.

Pink Duck Diaper Cake

This April I am posting a beautiful pink baby girl diaper cake. This one recently went out to soon to be born cute baby girl. The diaper cake has lots of wonderful things that mommy and baby will need.

This diaper cake will have hidden gifts that will be revealed the moment the cake is taken apart. At the core of the diaper cake, there are 2 burping cloths and about 4 baby hats. Perfectly surrounded by the first layer of diapers and then frosted out with a pink baby girl towel. The second tier has small wash clothes also surrounded by size one Luvs Diapers. That layer is also frosted in a white baby girl towel with a few flowers to bring the cake out.

And at the top stands a cute Easter Duck with bouquet of baby booties and two Lolly pops.
This cake is fully of great baby items.

Baby Diaper Bassinet

The other night I created my new version of the bassinet diaper cakes. In December of 2007 I came out with one version of diaper bassinets. It took a while before I started to receive inquiries on the cute arrangement.

Now knowing that I found the niche I was looking for that made my diaper cakes my own, I decided to start offering the diaper cake bassinets again. This cute baby arrangement looks very much like a real baby bassinet. It is made of diapers but the art behind making them still holds to be their presentation.

I am displaying one of my original diaper chairs again since they have been well liked. These are unique in every way. You can find hundreds of diaper cakes these days but not many diaper cake chairs.

Mommy Delights came up with the diaper cake chair design when thinking of ways to better present and display a gift arrangement. Not only have it be useful for the mommy, but make it a piece that would be a joy to present as a gift arrangement. The idea was first to set a stage sort of design where all the baby essentials that went with the cake would present themselves in an adorable way. The cute stuffed animals always dress the chair up making it a perfect baby gift arrangement. Most diaper cakes now a days have become generic cookie cutter designs. Some don't even bring baby products anymore. We dedicate the time to merge design and essential needs to our diaper cakes.

A baby shower with tea time in mind would be the perfect place for my next little baby gift arrangements. This idea came from a baby shower I attended a few months ago. The friend that was offering the celebration to the mommy, set up a perfect display of a sunny afternoon with close friends and served desserts and Tea or coffee for preference. I had to come up with an idea to help her out with the decor. So from there came the idea of the onesie dessert plates.

My next arrangement was the perfect recipe for baby Julian. 4 Cupcakes that were baked out of adorable onesies. Onesies color theme was a brown and green with cute monkeys. Each baby cupcake was topped with a flower for toppers. The box decorated with baby Julian's names.

In the middle looking out of the box stands a cute baby crab greeting you with big eyeballs. This is a perfect gift that is baked with tons of cuteness.

This makes a perfect gift when you want to make the gift uniquely to the baby. All that would be needed to put the final touch is the name.

Happy Birthday Elmo

Today February 3rd is Elmo's birthday. Elmo is one of my favorite characters and seems to be a favorite when it comes to baby showers and Diaper cakes.

Babies are so drawn to Elmo. And the funny fact behind Elmo is that he will never grow past 3 years of age. Our furry red friend would be about 38 years old today if he followed the aging rule. But as we grow older he continues to be our little one's favorite furry friend.

Sesame Street Pals are now at Bush Gardens

For anyone that lives in Florida, since March we now have all our Sesame Street Pals and friends at Bush Gardens. Kids under the age of 5 can enter for free as long as you register them and show proof that they are 5 and under at the time of register.

This is only available for Florida residents and will last through December 31, 2010.

Bush Gardens just wants to celebrate there grand opening of our friend's new home. Take the kids to see Elmo, Cookie Monster, Burt, Erine, Grover and the rest of the happy bunch.

Recently I created a towel cake for a Bridal Shower. I get more opportunities to build diaper cakes for baby showers but once in a while I get the opportunity to make one for a Bride-to-be. For this cake I went to her registry and used the towels she had chosen.

The cake was made with 1 large shower towel, 2 hand towels, and 2 wash towels.
At the bridal shower most of the ladies were in love with the two bride and groom ducks that were perched on the top.

One of my daughter's favorite bed time stories is "The 3 Little Pigs". Reading it to her for the 100th millionth time the other night I came up with my next cute diaper cake creation. My 3 Little Pigs Diaper Cake can be adored by anyone who thinks pigs to be absolute cute. I left out the whole wolf idea of course since it would not fit well with the innocent and angelic theme going on in the cake.

The cake is topped with the main plushy piggy toy at the top. He is holding a pink spongy to wash the baby. Around the 2 tier you have a receiving blanket and sitting on top of the 1st tier are his two other piggy buddies holding hands and showcasing a baby bottle. The diaper cake is a 2 tier composed of 56 diapers. Designed in the flare frosted style for anyone who prefers that look.

Most people follow the more modern themes well known as Winnie the Pooh, Sesame Beginnings, and Safari. Why not be a little different and have a theme of an older fairy tale such as our piggys.

Google Gives Tribute to Our Furry Friends

Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Ernie & Burt, Grover, Elmo, Mr Snuffy all make up some of my most memorable friends growing up. For anyone in their 30s who grew up inviting Sesame Street into their home every morning or evening can relate to how much they were part of our growing up years. Of course Sesame Street has been a friend for all generations after that and through the years has had its share of changes.

On November 10, 1969 Sesame Street premiered their very first episode. Today it has proven to entertain little kids in 125 countries around the world.

Google has been paying tribute to Sesame Street's 40th birthday by having our favorite characters appear in their logo. We saw Big Bird on Wednesday, Cookie Monster on Thursday and Today we have Burt and Ernie.

My favorite character has always been cookie monster so yesterday was my favorite Google page:

To my readers that follow my diaper cakes I apologize for falling short of updating my blog in the last few weeks. Family issues and life took hold of my time and I was unable to keep up my posts. People can have different opinions on what is best for baby. Women battle with so many questions when becoming a first time mother. Should I breast feed or bottle feed, is it ok to not wash your newborn's cloths before using them or even what are the best diapers to use or should I use diapers at all.

Diapers have made life so simple and clean to deal with the poppy mess but contrary to popular beliefs, there are people who believe in more natural ways of potty training their little one. More popular in third world countries due to the lack of accessibility and money, it’s a norm to potty train babies by keeping them naked from very young ages.

Babies that are trained in this way have a higher rate of being trained a lot faster and younger. But the question is who is up to the challenge of putting this to a test.

You would start by leaving you baby naked to roam freely at home.

Make notes on the routine in his or her bowl movements.

While cleaning up the mess you keep insisting to the baby that this needs to be done in the toilet.

Walk the baby over to the toilet and show them what to do.

Being consistent is the key to having this technique work.

Though I don’t consider myself a fan of this method, I did know someone who would swear by this technique. You have to be very patient and know that you will encounter messes in the first few days until baby's routine is in place.

Babies seems to learn faster and many are potty trained a lot younger than the ones in diapers.
Big question would really be, are you up for the challenge. I tried it for fun one day to see if I could really hack it. I ended up putting a diaper on my little girl after 6 hours.

The idea of doing away with the expense of diapers might give you a push to try it out yourself.
You baby might learn quickly and help you say bye bye diapers for good.

One of the biggest questions that newly parents may have is, what is the cost of having a new baby in the house. What new expenses will they have to deal with and is their budget in place for it. For anyone wondering the average expense for diapers alone, I gather a few fun facts that might be interesting to know.

In the first year of a baby's life, the parents will spend an average of 560.00 on diapers.
A baby can use about 2788 diapers in one year.
The average cost for raising a child from birth to 18 is between 125,000 - 250,000. (That is not including college).
In the baby's first year a couple can spend roughly 9,000 - 11,000 in all baby essentials such as formula, clothing, diaper, etc.
Even though this is a case of every individual, the average toddler leaves the diapers any where between 2.75 to 3.5 years of age.

Pluffies are my favorite

When creating all my diaper cakes, I usually build each one keeping in mind the preference of the client. But I must say if I was asked what makes the cutest toppings for each diaper cake I have to say I love using the Ty Pluffies Collection and the Child of Mine Carter's Collection.

I started collection the Ty Pluffies when I was pregnant with my daughter. Creating her room theme made me fall in love completely with the Pluffies. They are one of the few lines of stuffed animals that carries the cute faces across almost all of there animals. My little girl ended up making slumbers the bear her very best friend in the whole wide world. She goes every where with him.
Growing up I was probably the only 15 year old with a room full of stuffed animals. I think my love for making baby baskets and diaper cakes today is so I can continue the excuse of having cuddly cute stuffed animals around.

So since all cute cuddly stuffed animals get a turn on my blog to show off my beautiful diaper cakes this next one is perfect for elephant lovers. This Carter's pluffy stands tall at the top of this two tear diaper cake.

Along with him comes a blue teething ring with a new born 1.5 oz bottle filled with gum balls for mommy to enjoy, pacifiers and spoons to fill the top area of the cake. The frosting of the cake is made of a receiving blanket with a brown color decor and a picture of our cute elephant and his bird friend displayed. The cake holds 56 size(1) Huggies diapers.

This Baby Blue Elephant Diaper Cake is perfect to celebrate a baby boy's arrival. I usually don't post the price of any of my cakes only because they are all so custom made. Sprinkle Shower?

You almost have to wonder if that title is correct to call it a Sprinkle Shower because sprinkle intends to be just a sprinkle right? Women always wonder if its ethically correct to have a baby shower for the second baby. The answer is yes. But put a small spin to the idea by saying, "We are celebrating a Baby Sprinkle" and your troubles are over. Would you not agree that it could be said you are not having another baby shower, but just a sprinkle celebration instead. Sprinkle alludes to the idea that the mother does not need a shower of gifts but instead just sprinkle her with a few little things that might come handed.

In February I built a cute bear diaper cake all decorated in red to celebrate the month of Valentines Days. The cake was perfect for a mommy that was due around that week and the person who gave the gift wanted it to be all in a love theme.

So with a mix of baby pink and violet, this cake was perfect for the perfect occasion.

Topped with a cute plush bear that you see in the picture, baby socks, one bottle full of bubble gum for the mom to enjoy, 52 size one diapers, and all baby essentials buried within the cake make this cake so perfect.

My blog is all about diaper cakes, but since my favorites of all times are the Sesame Street bunch and their fellow cousins are the Muppets, I thought I should post this to whoever loves them as well.

With the Holidays, and all the other events in my life I realized I have been a bit behind on posting my diaper cakes. The end of 08 and the beginning of 09 have been eventful and hopes for alot to come in 2009 is driving people. With all the worries and issue going on I still find comfort in building my beautiful cakes.

So to start off the year I am going to post one of my most recent diaper cakes. I call it Ducky Wonder. Its a beautiful duck diaper cake perfect to carry all the bath accessories. Yellow makes it the perfect both gender splendor!!!

Winnie the Pooh and Tiger Too Diaper Cake

My next diaper cake went out to twin baby boys. This cake has Winnie the Pooh and his crazy little friend Tiger. The mother of the little twins would call them Pooh and Roo while she was expecting so the cake was perfect for her.

The cake brings two of all the little things it carries. This time I will just show the image of the items displayed instead of listing them.
This cake is added to my collection of the most common request in the family of the Winnie the Pooh Bunch. It is perfect when the sex is unknown and it can be a perfect gift for either boy or girl, not to mention who does not love pooh.

For a safari animal or monkey theme, my next diaper cake is perfect for the occasion. The cake is topped with a cute monkey from their TY Pluffies collection. I prefer the Pluffies Collection because they all have a sense of cuddle cuteness.

This cake was created to resemble close to the safari theme the mother had chosen for the baby nursery. The diaper cake carries the receiving blankets that were on the registry.

My next small break from diaper cakes takes me to a topic very hot for anyone parents of toddlers. How to say goodbye to those diapers?

A big step in a toddler's life is making that huge leap from diapers to potty. Most parents completely dread the idea of having to go through this time of adjustment. But making it a game with your child can show to be easy as long as you come up with creative ways to have the little one look forward to making this big leap.

There is no magic age to when a child should be potty trained. But most fall in the range of 18 months to 3 years.

Below are a few techniques that have been known to be helpful to say bye bye to the diapers!.

1. For boys a very famous one is drop cheerios into the toilet and have him aim for it. Make sure this technique is full of excitement so that every time he feels the desire he will make sure he doesn't miss a chance to aim at the cheerios.

2. Offer a treat for every time they go in the potty. Rewards will create an reason for them to want to go the next time they feel the need.

3. For parents that are open to the idea, invite the child to the bathroom when they need to and make it a time of the day the both of you can sit there. Even if nothing happens it will start to teach the child that going in the potty is part of growing up.

4. If you child is very regular, make it a commitment to do it at the same time every day just like you would do any other routine.

5. Keep enforcing the difference between being a baby and being a big boy or girl. They are so anxious to grow up that this motivates them.

6. Use any life example to drive the idea through.
An example could be when walking the family dog, explain to the child that doggies go to the bathroom in the lawn, and big boys or girls go in the potty.

7. Have books next to the potty for the child to be entertained. Some kids will create this a habit it will not only become a good tool to help end the diaper era, but also to their reading interest for the future.

8. If accidents occur never yell at them. Just encourage to try harder for the next time.

9. When they have success make a party out of it. Make sure to praise them to an extreme. This will motivate them extremely.

10. When you as a parent have the need to go, announce it and make a noticeable scene of how you are running to the toilet. Every toddler tries so hard to imitate everything they see the parents do that this will be a big incentive to do as well.

11. Never compare a child. Every child will accomplish this sooner or later. So just be patient and saying bye bye to diapers will come soon enough. After all how many grown ups do you know never got potty trained and are still in diapers?

One of my recent requests was for a pal violet and garden theme diaper cake for a baby boy's arrival. The baby's room would be all violet with a touch of garden feel to it. So the person who gave the gift asked me to combine this idea as well.

The diaper cake has a more neutral touch then most of the diaper cakes I have made in the past. And its probably the first garden idea that has been requested. Like always every diaper I make turns out to be it own unique style.

Floral Arrangements or Diaper Cakes

A big reason to why diaper cakes are such a perfect idea to offer as a gift for a baby’s arrival is the idea that the diaper cakes qualifies as a perfect gift for anyone wanting decor as well as exceptional usage. One of the most popular gifts known to be delivered to hospital beds to new mommies are beautiful floral arrangements. But imagine giving that mommy something that will be beautiful and useful even after its time comes to be taken apart. A floral arrangement has a life span of about a week maybe 2 if taken with diligent care. But a diaper cake will be used even after the cake has served its decoration purpose.

At a baby shower where I made a Winnie the Pooh diaper cake, an elderly woman asked me if I knew the origin of the diaper cakes. I had to sadly say I didn’t, although I did know that in the recent years it seems they are becoming a lot more popular. The elderly women who probably was close to her mid 80s told me that when she was a little girl she would watch her mother sow beautiful designs on fabrics that would turn into cloth diaper and were then given as gifts to expecting mothers. She would spend days producing a dozen or so of them and then with ribbons and bows she would make an arrangement made of those diapers. She added that back in her days, there was no concept of disposable items, so the gift would was more the thought that went into the gift.

Whether this story has anything to do with the origin of the diaper cakes or not, remains to be discovered but it was a beautiful story and thought I would share. Every diaper cake I make gives me joy because not any two are alike. It keeps me enjoying all the tiny cute things available for babies even after my daughter is passed her infant stage.

This Winnie the Pooh Diaper Cake is a unique cake all on its own. This cake's center is mostly made of up of items taken right of the mommy's registry. The center of the cake contains a Winnie the Pooh baby blanket and towel. Also in the middle is a baby pillow perfect to decorate the baby's room, and a Pooh rattle perfect to be the baby's first toy. Around the outside of the cake, diapers are decorated with beautiful ribbons and flowers to make it the perfect decor.

The diaper cake is topped with all baby essentials and toys that complete the perfect gift. What I find so unique of this cake is that presentation is not effected by the amount of items that it brings. Mom will find it to be a great surprise when its time to break the diaper cake apart.

Babymoon – Perfect Gift

Anyone with children will know for a fact that being pregnant is the last opportunity for some rest and relaxation with your love one. Diapers, bottles, washcloths, blankets, and lots of sleepless nights are all in the near horizon. So why not take the opportunity and take one last honeymoon. In the last few years a great popular gift for new parents has been babymoons. So to add to my collection of beautiful gifts to offer mom to be I decided to add some facts on babymoons.

Ducks have always been a huge symbol in the baby world. Maybe it all comes from the entertainment industry capturing us all with Ernie and his Rubber Ducky. Or maybe it could have been Daffy Duck that brought us to all love ducks. The truth behind it all is that almost all babies have at least one rubber ducky in their great collection of toys.

One of my recent cakes gave me the privilege to use my favorite character from when I was a kid.
This next cake is a wonderful gift for someone who is Cookie Monster Crazy. With a touch of delicate baby blue decor the cake is wonderful for a center piece at any boy baby shower. On the 10th month anniversary of this blog I have decided to put my first diaper cake for sale on http://www.etsy.com. I started building diaper cakes about 3 years ago when I was expecting my little girl. I was looking online for cute ideas to decorate her room and there in the middle of my search I came to discovery the famous diaper cakes.

My first diaper cake was built for a gift I had for a girl that was due only a month after I was and now looking back, that diaper cake was the true test drive to what later became a passion.

This next diaper cake I made it thinking it was not going to stand out as much as the others I have done but in the end I fell in love with it. I have not really made too many diaper cakes that are both genders in case the sex of the baby is not known. Most requests have been on either blue for boy or pink for a baby girl.

So every mother of a toddler knows that the little ones go through fazes of favorite movies. Well the last few months my 2.5 year old daughter has been all about Cars, the Movie. She knows all the cute characters by name: Sally, Mater, Lightning Mcqueen, Luigi, and Doc Hudson.

I decided to showcase my Curious George diaper cake next on my blog. This cake was done for a co-worker and her baby shower. The theme was all sports and since she was expecting a boy, what better way to celebrate then to dress up our favorite monkey of all time.

This diaper cake has been one of the bigger cakes I have done. This diaper cake had lots of great goodies not to mention a cute little alfit that is hidden in the middle of the cake inside a thermos that can be used later to store the baby's milk.

Along with it are: 2 bottles, a baby hat, 2 onesies, a little alfit, baby essentials, Curious George stuffed toy, blue brush and comb, toy monkey rattle, pair of football sneakers size 1, 2 pacifiers, two wash clothes, and 2 pairs of socks. Along with all the great baby accessories, are the sports balls that make the cake just so sporty!!!
